Taxidermy. A Framed and Glazed Case Containing a Budgerigar

SOLD

Latin: Melopsittacus undulatus

Size: approx. 29cm x 21.5cm x 9.5cm

Description: The Budgerigar is perhaps the most familiar of all the birds kept as pets, and since the 19th century, when specimens were first brought to Europe from its native Australia, it has been highly popular. Wild budgies are mostly green in colour, but variations have been created through selective breeding, and blue birds represent the commonest of these varieties. This case (made specifically for wall hanging) shows the blue variation in a most attractive manner.
