Description: Taxidermy specimen of a Lesser Flamingo mounted in minimal all-sides glass case.

The Lesser Flamingo was considered by the Ancient Egyptians to be the living representation of the god Ra, while in Ancient Rome, their tongues were considered a delicacy. Flamingo's live a long time, Lesser Flamingo's can live around 50 years whilst an 83-year-old greater flamingo, believed to be the oldest in the world, died at the Adelaide Zoo in Australia in January, 2014.
