Latin: Threskiornis spinicollis

Size: approx. 67cm x 62cm x 28.5cm

Description: The straw-fronted ibis is surely one of the world?s most strangely-plumaged birds. The feathers on its neck and upper chest are exactly what the species name suggests: they look as if they are made of straw. This intriguing specimen was prepared by a little known (but extremely competent) taxidermist named Edward Fortnum.
